  • Solaris logo

Solaris Photonics is taking 3 different startling innovations in solar photovoltaics from research through to development and commercialisation. These are a retro-fit system to existing solar PV installations to boost their output, an invention to almost negate the negative impact of shading on new solar panels and a novel solar PV “coating” which will be cheaper, more versatile and efficient than today’s panels. Please find out more here.

  • Geyser logo

Geyser Thermal Energy helps businesses of all sizes reduce their operating costs (and improve their carbon credentials) using latest generation thermal and water technologies to create bespoke, highly efficient solutions.

By examining your existing thermal energy usage and systems (space heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, hot water, steam and drying) we identify opportunities to improve your current infrastructure, often using heat recovery solutions to take advantage of otherwise wasted energy.

From ground/air/water source heat pumps systems through to complex, renewable-based district heating solutions, we have the expertise, technology and experience to create the right thermal solution for you.

Our advanced water based technologies provide significant savings against traditional salt based water softeners, chemical based cleaning solutions and other water filtration solutions, helping dramatically reduce maintenance requirements whilst providing rapid returns on investment. To see how you can save energy and help the environment please look further here.

  • ET Index Logo

ET Index provides expert analysis to help fund and asset managers, family offices and others reduce the carbon and environmental cost of their investments and even benefit from the outperformance of low-carbon stocks.

ET Index Research helps investors identify, understand and manage climate and sustainability-related risks. It does this through carbon data, portfolio carbon analytics and low carbon & fossil free indexes. ET Index Research will be adding sustainability data, analytics and indexes in 2018.

Please read more about what ET Index can do here.

  • Solarus logo

The unique Solarus PowerCollector™ is a concentrating, hybrid solar photovoltaic and solar thermal panel. Concentrating means that it has a curved mirror to collect and reflect more sunlight throughout the day. Hybrid means that it combines solar photovoltaic (PV) generation of electricity with solar thermal (T) generation heat. This means that you can heat your home and power your appliances, support your commercial operations and empower the local community.

Solarus’ mission as a certified B Corporation (B for “Benefit”) is to provide power to the people. As of a fast growing global community of more than 1,400 B Corp companies, we always consider society and the environment in balance with profit in our decision making.

  • Ashden

Ashden is an organisation supported by donations, which champions and supports sustainable energy innovators to accelerate the shift to a low-carbon world. Although a small organisation it is estimated that Ashden has had an impact on around 80 million people worldwide.

Through its annual Awards scheme Ashden uncovers and champions some of the most exciting sustainable energy pioneers on the planet. Award winners then grow through a tailored package of support, introductions to finance and running alumni masterclasses

For more information on how you could get involved either as a supporter or if you are aware of an organisation which could be nominated for an award please look here.

  • Anvil

More than 10% of all electricity is ultimately lost due to conversion. The superior operating efficiencies of silicon carbide (SiC) based power electronics over those of conventional silicon are part of the solution.

Anvil Semiconductors has developed unique technology for the production of SiC layers on silicon substrates that promises a step reduction in the cost of manufacturing power switches in this material. Anvil’s objective is to enable production of SiC materials and devices at costs close to those for conventional silicon so opening up high volume SiC device markets. Anvil’s patented low cost silicon carbide (SiC) technology will enable power systems to be more efficient and smaller, yet cheaper

Applicable across the total power range from power supplies for electronics to inverters for electric cars, average efficiency gains of approximately 7% can be achieved with Toyota claiming a decrease of 10% in fuel consumption with the introduction SiC. here.
